A birth chart becomes readable when you follow a consistent order. Begin with structure, identify repeated themes and delay fine detail until the central pattern is clear.

Start with the framework

Confirm accurate birth data and the house system. Note the Ascendant, Midheaven, Sun and Moon, then identify the chart ruler and any planets close to the four angles.

Look for repetition

Count element and modality emphasis, notice planets concentrated in particular houses and identify the tightest major aspects. A repeated theme matters more than an isolated symbol.

Build complete sentences

Combine planet, sign, house and aspect: what function, how it behaves, where it operates and what it interacts with. Compare the result with the chart’s recurring themes.

Interpret before adding more

Avoid collecting endless asteroids or minor techniques before understanding the foundation. A small number of well-synthesized placements produces a clearer reading than a long list of disconnected labels.

Read patterns, not labelsA useful interpretation connects this topic with the rest of both the natal chart and lived experience.
